How Almost Peaceful turned real marriage-preparation questions into a warm, repeatable social storytelling format with AKOOL.

The Story
Almost Peaceful is a Singapore-based relationship education company helping couples build stronger, more resilient partnerships through marriage preparation programmes, coaching and its flagship Unscripted Us couple board game.
Founder Angela Tan already had the raw material for compelling content: the questions couples ask when they are trying to build a life together. Questions about conflict. Family. Expectations. Repair. The future. The kinds of conversations that matter deeply in a relationship — but can be difficult to turn into social content people actually want to stop and engage with.
After relocating to the San Francisco Bay Area in mid-2026, Angela joined AKOOL's inaugural Artist-in-Residence programme in Palo Alto from August 3–21. She came into the residency with an interesting tension: could generative AI help her tell these stories at scale without making a deeply human brand feel automated?

The challenge: make important conversations watchable
Relationship education does not naturally fit the language of the social feed. The subject matter can be serious and nuanced, while the feed rewards immediacy, visual distinction and consistency.
For Angela, the goal was not simply to generate more content. She needed a format that could:
- Turn real, sometimes messy couple dynamics into approachable stories.
- Feel recognisable from post to post without becoming repetitive.
- Preserve the warmth and credibility of Almost Peaceful's relationship work.
- Be realistic for a solo founder to produce without an animation studio or large creative team.
Instead of making AI look more real, she made it feel more handmade
The breakthrough came through claymation. Rather than chasing photorealism, Angela developed a tactile, character-driven visual world that felt warm, playful and intentionally imperfect.
That aesthetic created just enough distance to make sensitive relationship questions easier to approach, while giving Almost Peaceful a distinctive visual language. It also answered Angela's original concern about AI feeling cold: the technology became a production tool behind a style that felt unusually human.

One of the recurring claymation-style relationship moments: “Can we start over?”
The AKOOL creative toolkit
Inside AKOOL, Angela combined two capabilities to build the series:
- Text-to-Image — to translate each relationship question into a consistent claymation-style scene, with characters and a visual language that could recur across posts.
- Image-to-Video — to add motion to those scenes and turn static concepts into short-form assets for Instagram carousels and Reels.
Together, the tools gave a non-technical, non-animator founder a much lighter production path: start with an insight from her workshops, create the scene, animate it, and pair it with the practical guidance only she could provide.
The questions came first
The strongest part of the content system was not the AI. It was the source material.
Each post began with a genuine question or tension that surfaced in Almost Peaceful's marriage preparation work — the things couples ask again and again but rarely see addressed simply and warmly online.
Angela then translated that question into a short visual story. AKOOL helped create and animate the world around it; Angela supplied the judgment, context and relationship guidance. The result was not generic AI content. It was Almost Peaceful's expertise expressed through a new creative format.

A relationship topic visualized for the series: “In-laws, friends, family — where’s the line?”
A repeatable four-step workflow
A format people did more than scroll past
Across the residency content series, Almost Peaceful reported the following average performance per post:
For a founder-led brand, the saves and profile visits are particularly useful early signals. Views indicate reach; saves suggest the advice was useful enough to return to; profile visits suggest the content created curiosity about the brand behind it.
But the more durable result was the system itself. Angela left the residency with a repeatable editorial formula: real question → visual story → practical answer. Instead of beginning every post from a blank page, Almost Peaceful now had a creative framework connected directly to the conversations already happening in its workshops.

In Angela's words
“At first, I was hesitant to use AI tools for a brand that's meant to be so human-centric. Relationships are personal, and I didn't want our content to feel cold or automated. After brainstorming, the claymation approach actually felt like the most human-centric way to bring AI into this work — warm, tactile, and a little imperfect, the way real relationships are. Moulding relationship, literally. The process let me produce content with real consistency and quality, without compromising that human touch. I'm looking forward to continuing this partnership with AKOOL.”

Why it matters
This case study is not really about making claymation with AI. It is about what happens when a subject matter expert gains access to creative production tools flexible enough to match her own voice.
Angela already had the insight, the questions and the relationship expertise. AKOOL helped reduce the production barrier between those ideas and the content she wanted people to experience.
In three weeks, the residency produced more than a set of social assets. It helped establish a storytelling system Almost Peaceful can continue using as it builds its presence in the US market — grounded in real questions from real couples, shaped by Angela's expertise, and made more visual through AI.
The takeaway
AI did not replace the human story. It gave the human story a new way to be seen.
